Championship Bull Riding Welcomes Two New Members to Strategic Partnerships Team

Following the recent addition of StarSports, Inc. to the CBR Sales and Marketing team comes the announcement Championship Bull Riding (CBR) has added two new team members to their growing roster. Michael Dixon and Ben Cambra join the Strategic Partnerships Team effective immediately.
Mr. Dixon comes from a familiar western lifestyle background. He previously led the National High School Rodeo Association as their CEO. His focus will be tactical planning and management for CBR partnerships. His strengths in brand management and partnership implementation lend to a strong unit within the marketing sales team.
Mr. Cambra brings many years of experience in sports television having worked in an executive role in telecasts on a host of networks including ESPN, CBS, FOX, and CNBC. Mr. Cambra possesses vast experience in sales and sponsorship in all types of media including digital, mobile and social. Other attributes he brings with him to the CBR are his expertise in contract negotiations, sponsorship activation within a national televised show and his vast knowledge of partnership fulfillment. In addition, his robust knowledge of business development will enhance the goals of this newly formed team.

The best of the best bull riders from all over the United States come to Fort Worth with the dream of winning the prestigious Tuff Hedeman Championship Challenge and tonight Cooper Davis’ dream came true by riding 90 point rides in each round. In front of a sold out crowd at the Historic Stockyards Coliseum, the young bull rider from Jasper, Texas proudly accepted the winning buckle from his hero, Tuff Hedeman and stated “I am honored to be invited to be a part of this great event. I can honestly say this is one of the best days of my career”. Davis is currently ranked #2 in the CBR and with this win; he may take it to #1 or close to it.
The Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge payout tonight went to Rocking R Bucking Bulls who also got the highest marked bull honors from Cooper Davis’ 91 point ride on Little Moody. Today’s show also included the Tuff Hedeman Cripple Creek Junior Challenge, that allows young kids with bull riding dreams the chance to compete and buck steer and tonight’s winner was Kane Livingston, from Cleburne, Texas.
The CBR Road to Cheyenne continues with a stop in Las Vegas, NE April 13th for the South Point Vegas Challenge Presented by Boot Barn Benefiting Cox Charities at the South Point Casino Arena.

Six World Champions- Other Big Names Slated to Compete

36th George Paul Memorial offers riders to help charity of choice

Friday night, April 26, 35 bull riders will have a chance to fatten their bank accounts and one rider will have a chance to drive home in a $35,000 Ram Country Bounty Bull Truck. Saturday night however, when the elite 24 best bull riders in the world compete, one of four will have a chance to ride for thousands in prize money and also help the charity of his choice.
Saturday night, April 27, the format will feature 24 of the world’s best bull riders. After the dust has settled, the 12 best riders will have a chance for a second bull. When the second round has been completed, only the top four best riders of the second round will earn a chance for the championship round. Before the top four compete however, each will have a chance to name the charity of his choice. If he wins the event, Ram Country of Del Rio and the George Paul will write a check for $5000 to the winner’s favored organization. Nick Khoury and Bobby Paul announced that each of the four championship round riders will pick where the money will go if he wins. Khoury and Paul advised, “It doesn’t matter if it’s a church, health organization that helps the families of injured riders or the cancer society as long as it has a 501 status”. They continued, “It just gives the riders a chance to ride for prize money but, also help someone who is less fortunate along the way”. Khoury and Paul added, “this is money donated by Ram Country of Del Rio and is not taken out of the bull riders prize money. It’s just something added to give an incentive to the riders to help any group they choose.”
The 36th George Paul Memorial Bull Riding, the oldest continuous bull riding in the world will be held April 26 and 27 at 7:00 PM at the Val Verde County Fairgrounds, Del Rio, TX. Named for the 1968 RCA world champion bull rider, George Paul, is the only rider to ride 79 consecutive bulls in professional competition, an unbroken world record. The event features the nation’s top professional bull riders and bulls.
The 36th George Paul Memorial Bull Riding title sponsor is Ram Country of Del Rio Texas, the RAM dealer, Presenting sponsor is Bud Lite, other sponsors include Ramada Inn, Del Rio Feed and Supply, Texas Lottery, Tractor Supply and Chaparral Club and is sanctioned by Championship Bull Riding.

Big Money Payouts For 2013 CBR World Championships In Cheyenne

Fort Worth, Texas (February 8th, 2013) ~ Championship Bull Riding is already a month into their 2013 “Road To Cheyenne Tour” with the new 8-Second Format that has already created a tremendous buzz in the bull riding industry. The new changes in the format insure that riders can and will make a living as a professional athlete in the sport of bull riding. No fees are required and every time a cowboy rides, he makes money. Now the CBR has announced that in addition to the $100, 000 bonus awarded to the 2013 CBR World Champion, the average winner at the finals during Cheyenne Frontier Days, will also win $50,000! This average bonus is in addition to the $40,000 added purse for the event.
Furthermore, $275, 000 will be paid during the finals to the winners of the Palace Station Bull Team Challenge making it nearly half a million dollars paid out during the course of two days!
"Championship Bull Riding is in the business of promoting the bull riding industry and in doing so delivering a series of events that will allow both our Bull Riders and our Stock Contractors a lucrative way to make a living,” stated Benny Cude, Chairman of the Board for CBR. “This is no different than any professional sport and all the athletes involved should get paid, just like they do in any other arena.”
“It is very exciting to award a $190,000 payout to the cowboys and the additional $275,000 for the Palace Station Bull Team Challenge,” said Cheyenne Frontier Days Chief Executive Officer Dan Cheney. “Not many sports offer almost a half-million dollar payout, so the CBR ticket buyer experience is like no other in professional bull riding.”

Championship Bull Riding Extends Telecast Rights Agreement with Fox Sports Networks

Based on the tremendous success of the inaugural season of Championship Bull Riding (CBR) on Fox Sports Networks (FSN) , CBR and FSN are pleased to announce that a new multi-year agreement has been reached to continue televising Championship Bull Riding’s Road to Cheyenne Tour on FSN.
Since moving to FSN in 2012, average household viewership for CBR programming is up more than 290% compared to 2011 when CBR events were televised on another network. The move to FSN makes Championship Bull Riding the only bull riding tour that offers consistency in scheduling its programming on the same network and in the same weekly time slot. This has allowed CBR the added advantage of building and delivering a loyal following in both viewer reach and frequency.
Stated Josh Oakley, Director of Acquisitions for FSN, “Bull riding has a very passionate fan base that has helped solidify FSN as the home of the CBR. We look forward to continuing to build on that audience over the coming years”.

Tonight marks the first event on the CBR Road to Cheyenne Tour of 2013 at the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City, La. Ticket sales are up from last year so we’re really excited to see what tonight brings. We’ve got a great lineup of guys and the best bulls in the sport so it should be good watching.
The first guy out tonight is Jared Long. I’ve seen him make some great rides and he has a bull J.W. Harris was on at Cheyenne, 380 Greenhorn. Jared could be 90 on that bull. He goes away from his hand but Jared rides bulls pretty good either way.
Corey Bailey’s a young kid with a lot of talent. I think he’s going to win a lot of money on tour this year. Tonight he has a bull called Lumberjack that he’s got a good chance to be 90 points on. The bull is one you want to draw and Corey’s got what it takes to ride him so it could be good.
Former CBR World Champion Clayton Foltyn has a bull from Silvercreek Rodeo that should be really good. Clayton should be a lot of points if he rides him, too.
Trey Benton has Pale Faced Jose that guys always like to get on. Chandler Bownds was 91 on him last year once. If Trey doesn’t stub his toe he could be a lot of points.
Cody Teel has a bull of King & Herrington’s that should be good. Cody is fresh off winning his first world title so I’d say he’s got a good chance to make a great ride tonight.
With this being the first event of the year, everyone’s looking to see who comes out on top and takes the early lead. When the season starts you always look at the guys with a history. For example, Josh Barrentine had a great year in 2012 and J.W. Harris is always going to be tough. There’s a handful of guys on tour that could be great if they stay healthy. Chandler Bownds is coming back off an injury and it’s always interesting to see how different guys recover. I personally think Chandler will be fine. We’ve also got some good young guys to watch on the tour like Cooper Davis and Corey Bailey.
It’s sure to be a great start to 2013 tonight in Bossier City. The CenturyLink Center is great; it’s one of my favorite venues because it’s set up perfect for bull riding. The El Dorado has been the title sponsor of this event for years. They’re the only five-star hotel in the area and they really roll out the red carpet for us. It’s going to be a great event and we’re excited to be in Bossier again this year.

MMA Helps Stetson Lewis Stay Ready to Ride

Even though Stetson Lewis has been a bull rider most of his 21 years, there was a rough time in his life that led him away from rodeo and eventually into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting. Now, Stetson has returned to his roots and the new sport he picked up is helping him stay at the top of his bull riding game.

“When I was riding in the PRCA I went through a rough phase of my life,” Stetson says. “I was sitting in the top 15 and winning Rookie of the Year but things started to go downhill. I had a lot of bad injuries – I broke my face, all the ribs on my left side, my left elbow ad tore my ACL. At the same time, my grandfather was passing away from esophagus cancer,” he explains.

Stetson’s mom, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, needed help taking care of her sick father so Stetson left college and the PRCA behind to help his family. “I kind of just stopped riding bulls. I went into Mixed Martial Arts and cage fighting and I didn’t have anything to do with riding bulls,” Stetson says.

But it wasn’t long before bull riding came calling again and, by that time, Stetson was ready to step back in the ring. “One day a buddy of mine called and asked if I wanted to go to a bull riding. I went and I ended up winning it. While we were there, a good friend of mine, Casey Bowman, was telling me about the CBR and some of the things the CBR had done for him. Wrangler Dunda, who’s another good friend of mine said the same things so I thought I’d give it a try,” Stetson says.

Now Stetson is back to riding bulls full-time, due in no small part to the checks he’s been pulling at CBR events. He captured his first CINCH CBR win earlier this year in Lufkin, Tex. and he credits his continued MMA training with keeping him at the top of his game this season.

“Training MMA has helped my riding. When you do this type of training it’s not just going into the gym and lifting weights. You use every muscle in your body and you get your cardio strong and healthy. Transitioning to different angles on an opponent helps your body stay loose and the fighting helps your reaction time get quicker,” Stetson explains.

MMA also helps Stetson prepare his mind for competition. “The mental game is very similar in fighting and bull riding because you go in against an opponent. You can’t be thinking, ‘This guy’s big’ or ‘This bull hurt my buddy last week’ when you’re out there. It helps keep my confidence up,” he says.

But the biggest benefit, Stetson says, is having a strong and healthy body. “I can bounce back from injury because my body’s healthier. I think every bull rider should train MMA because it will reduce injury and that’s important in this sport,” Stetson says.

While bull riding might be Stetson’s focus at the moment, he’s also busy preparing for a new challenge. Stetson and his wife, Catrina, are expecting their first child this fall. They are getting ready to welcome a baby boy so they could have a future CBR bull rider or MMA fighter on the way. Then again, maybe he’ll take after Dad and be both.

We had a great first day at Del Rio and the guys rode a lot of bulls last night. Today’s long round has quite a few bulls that are usually in the short round. Because of that I don’t think they’ll ride quite as many as they did last night but there should be plenty of great match-ups.

For example, Clint Craig has a bull called Devil’s Jacket. That bull’s been in the short go a lot. Clint should have a good chance to ride him. The bull should fit him pretty good because he likes to turn back to the right and that’ll be into Craig’s hand.

Neil Holmes has Directory Assistance, which is a bull that was real impressive here last night. He’s a bull guys like because he’s a little more rider-friendly. Guys like to draw him and Neil’s got an excellent chance to ride him. Stub your toe, though, and he’ll buck you off.

Chandler Bownds has got a bull called Cool Whip. He’s a really good bull, just real solid. He’s been around a little bit and the average score on him is about 87.

Clayton Foltyn’s got a bull called One Night Stand. Clayton made a good ride in the long round yesterday but got drilled in the short round so it will be interesting to see what he gets done today.

Clayton Williams drew Pretty Boy. That bull hasn’t been ridden since July of 2009 and he’s a big time bucker so Clayton’s got his hands full.

And of course JW Harris is always one to watch. He’s got a bull called Pocket Change and they don’t ride that bull a whole lot. The last time they rode him was at the NFR and they were 91 on him. He hasn’t been ridden at all this year but JW Harris is one of those guys that it just doesn’t matter what he draws. He rode great and won here last night and he’s won three consecutive world championships – enough said.

The other interesting twist on today’s rounds will be the heat. Today’s forecast said a high of 103. It’s usually hot in Del Rio for the George Paul; I think last time I won it here it was 107 when I climbed on. Sometimes that heat can affect performance but I don’t think that’ll be a problem with the level of riders and bulls we have here at the George Paul.

When people talk about bull riding in Del Rio, Tex., two things come to mind. One is the George Paul Memorial Bull Riding, the oldest stand-alone bull riding event in the world, which will celebrate its 34^th consecutive performance when the CBR rolls into Del Rio this May. The other rodeo icon synonymous with Del Rio is bull riding’s original rock and roll wild child, Bad Company Rodeo.

When Bad Company owner, Mack Altizer, started out as a stock contractor over 30 years ago, the rodeo industry was a different world. The cowboys competed for little, bulls weren’t superstars or fan favorites and brass bands set the musical tone of the show. Then came Bad Company Rodeo. As a rodeo competitor and cowboy himself, Mack wanted to put together a production both cowboys and fans would be excited to attend.

Top bulls, more prize money and the most electric atmosphere in all of rodeo was the recipe of Bad Company’s success. Instead of the standard brass band music of the day, Bad Company began blasting rock and roll anthems over huge loud speakers. A Bad Company rodeo was part Wild West show, part AC/DC concert.

Photographer Dave Jennings toured with Bad Company and witnessed the revolution Bad Company created within the sport of bull riding. “Mack saw it as more of a total entertainment package than just a rodeo,” Dave says.

For fans, that entertainment package started with music they could relate to. “The crowd didn’t expect it but then it made rodeo something cool to do again. We were trying to draw the 14 to 22-year-old crowd back, which rodeo had lost at the time, and it worked. How interesting would events like the CBR or PBR Finals be with a brass band? We were bored with it and we figured if we were bored with it, everybody else probably was too,” Dave says.

Mack says the music affected the bull riders in the same way as the fans. “When the bull riders would get there they were already in the mood. Every bull rider will tell you they ride better at the events where the music’s good,” Mack says.

Acting in the best interest of the cowboy has always been a priority for Mack and he knew the way to any bull rider’s heart – or at least his entry fee – was to have the best, most challenging bulls in the business. Of course, having the best bulls in the world doesn’t matter much if nobody knows you have them. In order to draw cowboys to the smaller rodeos Bad Company produced at the time, Mack needed to market his stock.

Innovating the way rodeos played music was an impressive accomplishment but modern stock contractors could learn a lot about bull marketing from what Mack Altizer was doing 20 years ago.

“People will go a lot farther to get on the good ones. If you promote that your bulls can’t be conquered, the riders think they can ride them so it becomes a challenge. We put on small rodeos but we drew the big guys. You ask those guys why they came so far to go to small rodeos and they’ll tell you it was because they wanted to get on bulls like the Dirty Dozen,” Mack says.

The Dirty Dozen was a legendary group of 12 top bulls Mack promoted to both cowboys and fans. The 12 in the set changed as bulls were injured or sold but when a bull earned a spot in the Dirty Dozen, it was well deserved. Rank bulls that made up the Dirty Dozen over the years included 231 Wild Thing, 235 Superstition, 237 Cadillac, 22 Strokin, 16 The Jam, 19 Jo Jo, 111 Bad Moon, 78 Crocodile Rock, -46 Sharp Dressed Man, 173 Achy Breaky Heart, and ZZ Bud Light.

Dave Jennings remembers the days of the Dirty Dozen well. “That pen of bulls was just really over the top. You could win on any of those bulls on any day of the week. I saw rodeos and bull ridings won of every one of them. It was really fascinating to see 12 bulls that were genuine buckers and not eliminators or anything,” Dave says.

Never before had a stock contractor marketed a set of bulls like Mack did with Bad Company’s famed Dirty Dozen. “What I wanted was to create a set of bulls guys wanted to come get on. Any guy could win on any of the 12 so it made a lot of excitement for the rodeos. It drew the good cowboys and the fans came when you got the good cowboys,” he says.

Among the good cowboys to challenge the Dirty Dozen was CBR President and four-time World Champion Tuff Hedeman. “They were all good bulls and the kind guys had the chance to ride and win on,” Tuff says.

One of the best stories to come from the George Paul in Del Rio involves Tuff and a member of the Dirty Dozen, ZZ Bud Light. “One of the wildest things I ever saw was at the George Paul when Tuff had ZZ Bud Light. The flank came untied when he went around the latch. He was still 88 points but he was one point shy of winning it so Tuff asked if I’d bring him back,” Mack says.

“It was about 103 degrees and Del Rio was set up big so we had to run him all the way back around and nobody in that audience moved. You could just feel the anticipation,” Mack says.

Tuff adds, “(ZZ Bud Light) was the one to win it on and even though the flank came off he still bucked good. Most contractors with a bull that good wouldn’t want to bring him right back but Mac’s always been a cowboy first and a stock contractor second.”

Although the Dirty Dozen is the most infamous set of Bad Company bulls, they weren’t the first to be marketed and earn notoriety like their cowboy opponents. Before the Dirty Dozen, Bad Company had a pen of five bulls they called The Bad Boys, composed of Wild Thing, ZZ Bud Light, Cadillac, Sharp Dressed Man and Superstition.

All these superstar bulls were named in a pretty creative and original way. Of course, there is a strong rock and roll theme, but each bull’s name is a reflection of him as an individual. “I try to fit every bull with a song name that fits him and the way he looks and bucks,” Mack says.

Creativity is a cornerstone of good marketing and the Bad Company team worked hard to innovate and be creative. “Bad Company was fortunate to have Dave (Jennings) on tour with us all the time and he’s the brains behind a lot of it. We were never done when it was over. That’s when we started thinking and getting creative. We’re always thinking about what we can do to keep it fresh,” Mack says.

Another pioneering idea Mack and Dave Jennings came up with was to promote The Bad Boys through t-shirts and other merchandise but they needed a good photo with all five bulls in it. Getting five bulls to strike a pose for a photo shoot is akin to winning the lottery – it can happen but only if you’re really lucky. “I went out with a beer in one hand and a camera in the other. I never even had to put my beer down. We walked up and they all put their heads up to look at us. I took two frames; I got lucky,” Dave says.

In the almost 20 years since that first promo photo was taken, The Bad Boys and Dirty Dozen have all left the arena. Although none of them have competed in years, their mark on the bull riding industry is still evident today through their sons and grandsons.

One of the most prolific sires of the Dirty Dozen was –46 Sharp Dressed Man. James Riley purchased –46 shortly before the end of his career. “When I bought him I didn’t buy him to breed to, I bought him to haul,” James says. “I hauled him for over a year before I bred to him and he was still quite a bucker then.”

At the time James started breeding with –46, he’d only sired four bull calves. Derrel Hargis bred to –46 years earlier and out of the four bull calves –46 sired, one was 142 Party Time who went to the NFR and PBR Finals. CBR fans will recognize Sharp Dressed Kid, Cadillac Man and Sharp Shooter as CBR Finals qualifiers. All three bulls are also sons of –46 Sharp Dressed Man.

Recently, the syndicate that purchased Black Pearl’s dam acquired straws of Dirty Dozen member 231 Wild Thing to use in the highly-valued cow. Wild Thing is the sire to G216 Sharp Dressed Man, one of Bad Company’s more recent standouts and current herd sires.

Great sets of bulls like The Bad Boys and the Dirty Dozen don’t come along very often. Bad Company was fortunate to have two and it looks like set number three is on its way, according to Mack. “I think we’re close to having a set as good (as the Dirty Dozen) but some of them are a year away yet. I think next year we’re going to have a great set going,” Mack says.

Although the bulls of Bad Company have changed many times through the years, the main principles of good bulls and good atmosphere remain the same.

“Mac’s rodeos and bull ridings were always fun. He knew in order for rodeo and bull riding to be successful it had to be fun for everybody, most importantly the fans,” Tuff says. “The traditional rodeo world kind of scoffed at what he was doing and now if you go to the National Finals or any bull riding event at any level, you’ll see what Mack was doing over 20 years ago. He was way before his time.”

By thinking outside the box as a stock contractor, competitor and promoter, Mack Altizer built Bad Company Rodeo into a bull riding dynasty that’s lasted over three decades. The best businesses stand the test of time by evolving but according to Dave Jennings, there’s one thing Bad Company does that will never change. As he puts it, “We’re still rockin’ and we always will be.”

Horace Greeley advised young America, “Go west young man, go west.” CBR advises the same thing but, the west they are referring to is West, TX. and the event is Bullfest In West. That’s right, not the west that bumps up to New Mexico but, the town of West just north of Waco, TX. Hosting their inaugural Horizon Series event is something the committee has worked on tirelessly since the idea was born to do a professional bull riding.

With an added purse of $5,000, West is on the radar for many of the top CBR riders and top stock contractors. Danny Reagan, arena director, has consulted with Dwayne Utmor and Mark Cunningham, co-producers, on how the mechanics of a bull riding work and they have entrusted him with the arena production duties.

In March, the Mayor of West was impressed with the production and the CBR friendly staff and riders at the Tuff Hedeman Challenge in Fort Worth. This bear of a man, Jerrell Bolton, knows sports after having played on the 1968-69 University of Texas championship football team. As a guy who knows athletes, he was not only impressed with the agility and physical abilities of the riders but, the bulls as well. When Nate Perry of Elk City, OK took a double hit to his helmeted head, Mayor Bolton responded “football players take a hit that hard and when they do, don’t shrug it off, get up and walk away.” His opinion, “those guys are tough and all of West is excited about the new CBR Horizon event,” Saturday night in West, TX, April 30, 2011.

Look to the Horizon - Horizon events will make a difference for a world championship

We all like to look to the Horizon as that place where we know things will be better, be possible, a new day, a new beginning. For some, the Horizon series is more that that. It is the path to a world championship. Looking at the new world and Horizon standings puts emphasis on where Horizon fits in the plans of those bull riders that hope, compete and work extra hard to earn a CBR world championship. Take CBR world standings leader Clayton Foltyn. Currently with 3342 points he leads for a word championship. 1245 of those points have been earned at Horizon events or 37.2 % of his overall points. Bonner Bolton in second place for a world title has earned 2599.75 of which 1044.25 of his total or, 40%, has been earned at Horizon events. One other example is Stevo Keighley in third place for a world title with 2306.5 has earned 1517.5 or 65% of his total at Horizon Series events. Keighley, from Wilson, FL, is a long way from a lot of events but, recognizes the advantage of the Horizon Series and is making every ride, every weekend count.

Cooper Kanngiesser vs. Devil's Deal
Cooper Kanngiesser bucked off his bull last night, but he has a great one in tonight's long round. His draw is Devil's Deal, a bull who will be on the Dibbet Rodeo Bulls/Double D LLC team. In two CBR outs this season, the bull has been ridden both times for an average ride score of 89 points. Right-handed riders have had more success against Devil's Deal, and that will work in Cooper's favor. This one should end up somewhere in the high-80s.

Neil Holmes vs. Cinch Red Label
Even though Neil Holmes bucked off last night, it was great to see him back. Unfortunately, things won't get any easier tonight because he has drawn Cinch Red Label. This bull was a part of the Cody Ohl/Circle T Arena team that finished third last night. He was one of the best bulls out last night, and he made short work of J.W. Harris in the Championship Round. Holmes has the talent to ride him, but he showed some rust last night. Cinch Red Label will be too much for him to handle.
My Pick: Cinch Red Label

Wrangler Dunda vs. Big Money
Wrangler Dunda went 1-for-2 on night one in Kansas City, and he will be looking to do even better tonight. His draw for tonight's long round is Big Money, a bull who will be on the King/Herrington team. He was extremely impressive last night, bucking off top-five rider Friday Wright. Big Money has continued to mature and improve over the last couple months, and he has become a handful for riders. Dunda can ride him and be a lot of points in the process, but I'm taking the animal athlete this time around.
My Pick: Big Money

Craig Sasse vs. China Grove
Craig Sasse continued his recent success by finishing fifth on night one of the Tour Finale. He rode both his bulls, including an 88 on Hydrojacket in the Championship Round. His draw for tonight's long round is China Grove, a bull who was on the Pro Bull Nutrition team that finished second last night. He will be on the Hurst Bucking Bulls team tonight. Steve Woolsey was 87.5 points on China Grove last night, and Sasse should be pretty close to that as well. This is a great draw!
My Pick: Craig Sasse

Cody White vs. Rena's Pet
Cody White bucked off his bull last night and took a little shot as well. You can bet he will be ready for action tonight though. His long-round draw is Rena's Pet, a bull who will be on the Okeechobee Bull Company team. This bull was ridden a couple times earlier in the season, but he has bucked off six consecutive riders coming into tonight. White has ridden well lately, but this bull is extremely tough on right-handers. This is a toss-up, but I'm going with the bull.
My Pick: Rena's Pet

Steve Woolsey vs. Psycho Todd
Steve Woolsey went 1-for-2 last night, but Thunder Down Under was too much for him in the Championship Round. His draw for tonight's long round is Psycho Todd, a bull who will be a part of Team Neckover. He was really good last night against Cody White, and he can definitely help a guy get close to or above 90 points. Woolsey looked really good last night, and this one should work out very well. If this isn't the round win, it will be pretty close.
My Pick: Steve Woolsey

Luke Kelley vs. Schuffler
Luke Kelley is closing in on his first CBR World Title, and tonight will be a big night for him. His draw for the long round is Schuffler, a bull owned by Brad Vogele/McKeller. I picked Elliot Jacoby to ride him last night, but the bull won the match-up. Schuffler has bucked off several riders in a row, but he is still a great draw in tonight's round. Kelley will be motivated to bounce back after last night's disappointment, and he will show everyone why he is the top guy in the season standings.
My Pick: Luke Kelley

Jake Littlefield vs. Heater
Jake Littlefield was the top guy on night one in Kansas City, and the victory moved him to fourth in the season standings. His draw for tonight's long round is Heater, a bull owned by Benny Cude. This bull was one of the most impressive last night, and he has bucked off his last three riders. The Mississippi bull rider is obviously riding very well right now, but I'm going with the upset pick here. Heater is extremely quick and really tough against right-handers, and Littlefield will have a tough time making all the corrections necessary to get a qualified ride.
