Chad's Bio:

Bull riding was a big deal in Chad Castillo's family growing up in Arizona.

"My uncles had me on a bucking barrel before I could even walk. It was just how things were in my family," said the stylish 5'11 cowboy, wearing sporty eyeglasses and a fancy paisley western shirt covered in embroidery to boot. Unfortunately, bull riding wasn't as big in Arizona as Chad would've liked it to be. So, after graduating high school he packed up his bags and moved to Big Spring, Texas, to rodeo for Howard College. Here, he met his wife, Kimberly, and made Texas his home. He continued his education and rodeo team competition for Tarleton State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies. He and his wife now reside in Lipan where they also break and train roping and barrel horses on the side.

"I get enough physical activities working at the house to keep in shape, I think," responded Chad when asked if he does anything special to keep in shape for riding bulls. However, he continues to educate himself with each and every ride.

"Most all of my rides stand out individually in my mind. Each one has its place and each one is a learning experience. I'm tired of learning lessons the hard way," Chad joked, "because it would sure be nice to ride every ride the right way."

Chad's goals are currently focused on life and family. While bulls are his passion, family has become more important.

"My goal for life is to be happy, healthy and raise a good family. If I can do all of those things and be successful in rodeo, then so be it."
