Cody's Bio:

Cody earned the title of Crown King of the Month for January 2009 by kicking off the season with a win at the Tuff Hedeman Mississippi Shootout in Biloxi, MS. The 27 year old rider of Asher, OK roared into the first event of the year with a total score of 184 after riding Kind Clyde (BV) to an 89 in the long round and sealing the deal with a 95 on Hammertime (CB) in the final.  “I felt real good. I had some time off and it just felt good to get back on. 95 was great but that $10,000 check was even better,” he laughed.

Cody has been taking some time off due to an ongoing wrist injury. He’s been using his time off to do some work around his home in Oklahoma. Aside from raising cattle and bulls he’s been hosting clinics at his home for nearby bull riders “ I must be doing something right. Some of these kids are starting to beat me”.  Cody lives at home with his wife Kori and their 17 month old daughter Lila.

The Western lifestyle is the way Cody was raised. He says it was never an option not to be a bull rider. Rodeos were all he ever knew growing up in a home where both sides of the family have a rich history in rodeos.  He thanks his mom Nancy, his sister Amy, his dad Mike and B Joe his brother for all their support.

After taking so much time off he says his body feels good and he has the fire back.  “I’m gonna make the most of it and try to take some more of that money!”
