Conroe Bull Mania Honors Conroe High teachers on World Teacher Day

Conroe Bull Mania Honors Conroe High teachers on World Teacher Day

Conroe Bull Mania presented by Demontrond Auto Group

Today is World Teachers' Day, also known as International Teachers Day, and the purpose is to commemorate teachers and teacher organizations worldwide. CBR would like to recognize Suzanne Fulghum a special life skills teacher at Conroe High School who has 21 years of experience as an Agriculture Science teacher. CBR would also like to recognize Sherri Jepsen, the only female Agriculture Science teacher at Conroe High school.

Suzanne has been a part of Conroe Bull Mania for several years as a volunteer staffer but this year she will be sitting in the stands watching all the exciting action as one of the recipients of the free admission being offered to all Conroe and Montgomery county teachers.

World Teacher’s Day is celebrated annually on October 5 and is aimed at mobilizing support for teachers to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers.

The Conroe Bull Mania at the Lone Star Expo Center is presented by Demontrond Auto Group and this year the l riding competition is aimed at paying tribute to first responders of Hurricane Harvey and CBR Chairman of the Board local businessman Benny Cude has opened the event to First responders, active and veteran military and educators free of charge.

"It's for a great cause and we want to thank everybody and give them a show in appreciation for what they have done for this community," said CBR Chairman of the Board, Benny Cude.

The nationally televised bull riding features the top 24 ranked bull riders in a tournament style format that appeals to fans because riders challenge as many as three bulls in one performance.  The doors open at 6:30 pm and the action begins at 8:00 with the professional rider’s testing their skills against some of the best bovines in the industry and doing their best to hang on for eight seconds. The top 12 from round one advance to a semifinal round with the evening ending in the four man Shoot Out where the bulk of the $50,000 in prize money is paid. The prize money is doubled at this stop because no rider made the 8 second whistle to collect the money on the last tour stop in Laughlin, Nevada, resulting in the money being added to the pot for the Conroe event.
