2012 “Daddy of ‘em All”® to host CINCH CBR Tour World Championship
FORT WORTH, TEXAS (November 22, 2011) – Championship Bull Riding, Inc. (CBR) proudly announces the return of the Cinch CBR World Championships with two performances in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 23rd and 24th, 2012 as part of the legendary 116th Annual Cheyenne Frontier Days™ (CFD). The journey to the 2012 CBR World Championship Title will be - “The Road to Cheyenne”. This gives CBR an opportunity to promote the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ festival throughout the 2012 season at both live events and during broadcasts on FOX Sports Network. After the 2009 season, CBR implemented a Rider Bonus Program and opted for a more concise ending to the annual series by hosting a Tour Finale instead of a World Championship event. “We wanted to offer a larger earning opportunity to our riders. Those who consistently compete on the CINCH CBR Tour and in the developmental CBR Horizon Series events, now have an opportunity to earn substantial year-end bonus money, with the CBR World Champion taking home a $100,000 bonus”, stated Wes Bruce, CBR CEO. In 2011, CBR teamed up with Cheyenne Frontier Days™ and, for the first time in history, the CINCH Tour held two exciting performances on the legendary dirt at Frontier Park. “Discussions about the return of our World Championships to a venue like Cheyenne actually began before we hosted the first CBR performance there this past July,” stated Bruce, “We are very pleased to continue our relationship with the great folks at CFD and are now even more excited to return with a World Championship event.” Additionally, this year’s CBR event from Cheyenne, along with all of the 2012 CINCH Tour events, will be broadcast on FOX Sports Network (FSN). CBR begins airing prime time in May 2012 on Sunday nights and will reach more television households on FSN than any other regular season rodeo or bull riding programming on television today. Since 1897 CFD, also known as the “Daddy of ‘em All,”® has been host to the very best in Professional Rodeo, being named the PRCA’s Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year twelve times and more notably, the last seven years running. The combination of a CBR World Championship, the CBR Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge Finals and the crowning of the CINCH CBR Tour World Champion will mean that near $500,000 will be awarded to CBR riders and stock contractors at the 2012 “Daddy of ‘em All”®. With the renewed 2012 agreement, Cheyenne Frontier Days™ remains on the CINCH CBR Tour schedule with other legendary events, including one of the world’s oldest bull ridings, the 35th Annual George Paul Memorial in Del Rio, Texas; and the world’s best bull riding, the 20th Annual Tuff Hedeman Championship Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. Rod Hottle, General Chairman of Cheyenne Frontier Days™ said, “We are pleased to be hosting the CINCH CBR World Championship in 2012 as part of our 116th Western Celebration. ‘The Road to Cheyenne’ will not only bring the top CBR competitors to the ‘Daddy of ‘em All,’ but also some of the best bulls in the industry; this year’s event should be one of the best bull riding events ever seen in old Cheyenne.”
