CBR Wraps Up Their Exciting Week In Nashville
Fort Worth, Texas (June 17, 2009) ~ Championship Bull Riding wrapped up their week in Nashville and the 2009 CMA Music Week. CBR riders and staff made appearances inside the exhibit hall at the GAC and RFD booths. They spent time in the Fun Zone with Mahindra Tractors, and made time to meet fans with Waggin’ Train Dog Treats in the Sports Zone.
On Friday, CBR Riders teamed up with Nashville recording artists, Jason Brown, Jeremy McComb, Jeremy Cready, the O’Sheas and River County in the Chevy Sports Zone for the Mahindra Celebrity Bull Riding.
This was the second year CBR has participated in this mechanical bull competition. Rider Jake Littlefield and singer Jason Brown paired up again to defend their 2008 title and were successful. The duo swept the competition, as all the fans and participants had a great time watching. Both Jason and Jake took home a champion buckle designed by Hy-O Silver.
In addition to the Mahindra Celebrity Bull Riding and the daily autograph sessions, the CBR riders and staff mingled with some of the biggest names in country music during several special events throughout the week.
On Monday, Steve Woolsey and Cooper Kanngiesser bowled with country music legends Lonestar during the Lonestar & Friends Strike Out for the Kids Bowling Bash benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Later that evening Tuff Hedeman, Wesley Silcox and Hugo Pedrero were celebrity bartenders at a private fundraiser hosted by Lee Ann Womack, Darryl Worley, Chuck Wicks, and Jamey Johnson.
On Wednesday morning, CBR joined Mark Wills, Eric Church, and Darius Rucker during the Country Music Hall of Fame Celebrity Breakfast. Later that day, CBR’s own John Jacobs, Cody Whitney, Hugo Pedrero and Friday Wright jumped in the back of a Chevy Truck with CBR friend Trent Willmon for the CMA Kickoff Parade down the famed Broadway Avenue in downtown Nashville. Other parade participants included Ricochet, Lonestar, The Oakridge Boys, Rodney Atkins and Trent Tomlinson, just to name a few.
During the Owens Corning Tough Enough To Wear Pink CBR All Star Challenge Presented By Lowe’s, several celebrities made an appearance both on and off of the dirt. Kix Brooks enjoyed a prime viewing spot as he watched the event from above the bucking chutes, but it was Trent Willmon that stole the show as he beat out other celebrities for the title of Celebrity Steer Riding Champion. Jack Ingram, Jason Meadows, Suzanne Alexander, Storme Warren, Dan Evans and Rudy Kalis were among those celebrities that participated in the event.
Throughout CMA Fan Fest, CBR riders signed autographs in the exhibit hall with Keith Anderson, Steve Azar, Eli Young Band, Bucky Covington, Bomshel, Julianne Hough, and Collin Raye. They also made a few new friends such as Kid Rock when they bumped into him at Nashville’s famous bar-Losers.
“This is a fun event and we enjoy doing it for our fans. We just like to come out and have a great time!” stated the event host, four-time world Champion Tuff Hedeman.
As the CBR staff and riders gear up for the Lakeland event this Saturday they look back on their days in Nashville all with the same thought in mind - We had a great time, can’t wait to come back and do it again next year!
