“You don’t need to know anything about bull riding or even own a pair of boots to enjoy the event,” said the four time World Champion bull rider who coordinates the details and serves as the Chute Boss on the Road to Cheyenne.

Pitted against the cowboys will be World Champion caliber bucking bulls on a quest to earn $45,000 in the CBR’s Bull Team Challenge competition which features the “other side of the ride.”  This year’s Conroe Bull Mania will be the season’s first and only stop in Texas before the end of the year.

You won’t want to miss this year’s competition as two of the top bull riders in the world, the 3-time PRCA and 3 time CBR World Champion Sage Kimzey and Conroe fans can cheer on one of their own as the local red hot rookie, Boudreaux Campbell of Crockett who is currently leading the PRCA Rookie of the Year contest attempts to unseat the six time World Champion Sage Kimzey. These two Texas bull riding sensations are at the top of their careers and fans will have the rare opportunity to see these extraordinary cowboy athletes who are currently trending in the rodeo industry.

“Kimzey, a rare talent who rides fundamentally flawless,” according to Hedeman, has won over one million dollars since January 1 and is on pace to hit a career earning high of four million by the end of the year.

Campbell finished as the top CBR rookie last season and third in the overall race for the gold buckle. He won two event championships (Hobbs and Salina) on the Road to Cheyenne and had a stellar first CBR World Finals riding three of five and qualifying for the Shoot Out round at the Daddy of “Em All in Cheyenne. The Lovelady High School graduate is leading the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association Rookie of the Year contest and is on pace to qualify for his first National Finals Rodeo at 18 years old.

With 30 years of bull riding history on his resume, Tuff Hedeman is one of the most recognizable cowboys in the history of rodeo and the former four time world titled Hedeman will be in town and serve as “chute boss” for the one night extravaganza.

This year’s party in Conroe begins when the doors open at 6:30 pm and action gets underway at 8:00 p.m. The field of competition which starts with 24 riders, 12 advance to the semifinal round, then the Shoot Out round features the final four man competition where they will battle for the lion’s share of $30,000 in prize money. The format is exciting for the fans as they watch riders challenge as many as three bulls in one performance. In addition to the bull riding action local celebrities will be featured in an intermission.

In addition to lucrative prize money, bull riders accumulate points for the World Finals which is part of the legendary Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration held in Wyoming next summer where the winner will receive a $100,000 bonus and the title of CBR World Champion.
