Hedeman Returns to the Promise Land

WEATHERFORD, Texas – April 5, 2017 - Tuff Hedeman is a 4-time world champion bull rider and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer who has been producing top rated bull riding events for over 30 years.

The Fort Worth Tuff Hedeman Championship Bull Riding began as an invitational and has been voted the worlds’ best bull riding 9-times. Twenty four bull riders own a Fort Worth Champion buckle and each one of them is remembered for their effort and superior athletic ability at what is widely considered the event that provided the foundation for what has become a multi-million dollar sport.

At this year’s Silver Anniversary event, Tuff Hedeman will once again bring great bulls to match up with the best cowboys on the Championship Bull Riding (CBR) Tour but Hedeman took time to reflect on the winners from 1998 – 2002.

1998 Tuff Hedeman/Rogerio Ferreira - “The first tie and the first and only Brazilian to ever win the event.”

1999 Norman Curry – “Made an unbelievable ride on Hollywood for 96 points! One of the greatest rides in the history of the event.”

2000 Troy Dunn –“One of the toughest bull riders I've ever seen! Like Clint Branger, I can't believe he never won a world title. He rode Candy Man in the finals to win it.”

2001 Cody Custer – “A World champion who made a great ride and rode  one of the bull rider's favorite bulls ever, Promise Land scoring 95.”

2002 Jim Sharp – “The best bull rider I have ever seen still competitive 10 years past his prime, rode Promise Land for 94. The second year in a row the event was won on Promise Land!”
