Mark Your Calendar for the 2017 Road to Cheyenne CBR World Finals at Cheyenne Frontier Days

Wyoming is one of the few remaining parts of the United States where you can get an up-close and personal glimpse of the true American West – this is, after all, the state where the myth of the cowboy was born.

Mark your calendar, entertainment line-up is here and tickets are on sale NOW for America’s largest outdoor rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD), and outdoor concert venue, which begins on July 21, 2017 at Frontier Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Referred to as “The Daddy of ‘em All,” CFD is also the home to Championship Bull Riding’s World Finals for both the cowboy athletes and the CBR’s Bull Team Challenge competition.

On Monday night, July 24, the 2017 CBR World Finals action, worth over $450,000 in total prize monies, begins with two rounds including 48 outs of the 24 elite bull riders who qualified from the nationwide 16 stop Road to Cheyenne tour which begins each July immediately following the season competition.

Round three, four and five continue on night two, July 25, and at the end of the evening the CBR World Champion rider and bull team owners are crowned and presented each with a $100,000 check from four time World Champion Tuff Hedeman and Chief Executive Officer Benny Cude.

“When you grow up a cowboy, there are two or three major events you aspire to go to, Cheyenne is one of them. There’s a reason songs are written about it and they call it the “Daddy of ‘em All”. It really is that important to a rider. For me, it was, and always will be, a privilege and an honor to have competed in Cheyenne. There are moments in Cheyenne that have changed my life and shaped me. Now to come back, and step in the arena, and produce an event, it is beyond words,” Tuff Hedeman, 1988 All-Around CFD Champion and 3 time bull riding winner (1988, 1995, 1996).

Sage Steele Kimzey is the reigning CBR and PRCA World Champion Bull Rider and he is expected to defend his title on the hallowed dirt in Cheyenne.

Headlining Cheyenne Frontier Nights for 2017 country music artists will be in concert beginning with the kick off Friday night concert on July 21 with Brantley Gilbert. Saturday night features Little Big Town followed by nightly performances including Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, Sawyer Brown and the finale artist is Jason Aldean on July 29.  See cfdrodeo.com for complete schedule.

Over 266,000 people attend CFD events in and around Cheyenne with over 120,000 people attending the rodeo each year for the spectacular event which operates with more than 2,500 volunteers. Since it was founded on September 23, 1897 CFD has energized the community, bringing the nation’s leading rodeo contestants to showcase their talents. Over one million dollar in prize money is awarded to the rodeo contestants competing in five events.

About Cheyenne Frontier Days - Since 1897, Cheyenne has celebrated its Old West roots with this eye-popping festival. The center piece of this Western celebration is the world’s largest outdoor rodeo, which draws top professionals. Complementing the daily rodeo action are behind-the-chutes tours, trick riding and a wild-horse race. A Native American Village, Old Frontier Town, a saloon, dancing, a chuck wagon cook-off, pancake breakfast and an art show carry through the frontier theme. Rounding out the program are a carnival midway, an air show, top-name entertainment, professional bull riding shows and several parades that include antique carriages and automobiles.
