CBR Brings Newly Crowned World Champion to Rio Rancho

The undisputed number one bull rider in the world, Sage Steele Kimzey, earned his third consecutive Professional Rodeo Cowboy Associations (PRCA) world title on December 10, in Las Vegas, Nevada and he is coming to Rio Rancho in January. In one of only two appearances in New Mexico, you will not want to miss seeing Kimzey continuing his quest to become the best bull rider in history on January 28 at the Bucking on the Rio Grande Presented by the Navajo Nation.

Kimzey, the reigning CBR World Champion Bull Rider, rode six of his ten bulls at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo to finish his year $23,647.98 ahead of Sulphur, Oklahoma native Brennon Eldred who finished second in the Super Bowl of rodeo’s average winning a total on the season of $287,803.29.

So stuff your bull riding fans’ Christmas stockings with tickets and plan now to be at the third annual bull riding battle alongside Ram Rodeo, to cheer on these highly decorated champions which includes multiple National Finals Rodeo qualifiers including Cody Rostockyj, Jeff Askey, and Tim Bingham.

Four time World Champion and CBR Chute boss Tuff Hedeman has been producing top rated events for over 30 years and ticket holders can look forward to a great night as CBR has recruited some of the industry’s leading entertainment and personnel for the televised tour’s ninth stop of the 2016-17 season.

The funny man in and outside the barrel will be Justin Rumford, the 2014 NFR Barrel man and five time PRCA Clown of the Year. Stepping in at every turn and keeping the bull riders out of harm’s way will the Get Famous Energy bullfighters Matt Baldwin, Brandon Loden, and Oklahoma State University student Schell Apple.

Tickets on sale now for the Bucking on the Rio Grande hosted at the Santa Ana Center in Rio Rancho where Jacob O’Mara will defend his 2016 title against Sage Kimzey who is on a mission to continue his dominance in both the CBR and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

“Kimzey is fundamentally flawless, the best rider this sport has seen in 15 years,” said CBR Ambassador and Chute Boss, Tuff Hedeman.

CBR Famous Energy Bullfighters, grand pyro introductions, and great family entertainment assure bull riding fans enjoy the the two hour adrenaline rush show.

“It’s a combination of a great rock and roll concert and a heavy weight prize fight and refereed by Tuff Hedeman,” said CBR Chief Executive Officer Benny Cude.

The Bucking on the Rio Grande, presented by Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation along with Ram Rodeo is a premier event on the CBR’s Road to Cheyenne tour, features a field of 24 elite bull riders in a three round tournament style event ending in a final four Shoot Out round worth $30,000.
