Championship Bull Riding Offers Bonus Viewing on Fox Sports2 Starting NOW

Championship Bull Riding (CBR) announces additional airings of its premier bull riding events from the first quarter of the already in progress 2016 Road to Cheyenne Tour season beginning Wednesday, January 6, 2016. So set your reminders and DVR’s to Fox Sports 2 to catch all the jaw dropping action of this nationwide 14 stop bull riding tour.

The Road to Cheyenne’s regular television broadcast airs on FOX Sports Networks (FSN) beginning in May, but this year CBR has made available a bonus round to be aired on Fox Sports 2. This added coverage to the regularly scheduled Road to Cheyenne Tour which will remain in prime time television in late May -  exact date to be announced later.

The CBR on Fox Sports 2 will feature the highlights from the 14 events plus the CBR World Finals on the Road to Cheyenne Tour beginning with the first event in Jackson, Tennessee and culminating with the World Championships at Cheyenne Frontier Days from Cheyenne, Wyoming, which will air in August.

The storied tour tells the narrative of the 2012 PRCA World Champion Cody Teel of Kountze, Tex., as he grinds through injuries, wins Del Rio, the one CBR event he had never been healthy enough to attend, and rides in to Cheyenne just 30 points ahead. His opponent, 2014-15 PRCA World Champion and 2014 CBR World Champion Bull Rider, Sage Steele Kimzey of Strong City, Okla. No spoiler alert here you will have to tune in to see the results.

You won’t want to miss one minute of the action as the No. 1 and 2 ranked bull riders in the PRCA, Sage Kimzey and Cody Teel have already been challenged in the first four CBR events by the current leader, Cody Rostockyj. Watch as they are tested by veterans such as Brennon Eldred, a two event winner, and 18-year-old Wyatt Rogers who set the bull riding world on fire after winning the largest CBR regular season purse of $43,000 in his debut event as a professional.

See these outstanding athletic performances thru the eyes of four-time World Champion Bull Rider Tuff Hedeman and chute reporter Ali Dee, catching the cowboy’s reactions just moments after they leave the arena. The sixty minute format also features former CBR superstar bull rider Cody Whitney joining rodeo royalty, Jeff Medders, from the broadcast booth.

In addition to the CBR’s unique three round tournament style format, the Road to Cheyenne features a fierce competition among stock contractors as well bull riders. The CBR Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge was created in 2010 and has grown to a 48 team owned competitive franchise league that will award over $1,034,375 in the 2015 season.

Competing for a total purse of $45,000 on each tour stop, the bucking bulls of the CBR are in high demand as each champion team on the Road to Cheyenne stop wins $20,000. In addition to the four money earned placings, Bull of the Event (High Marked Bull) and Champion Bull (High Marked Ride) honors are rewarded with Hyo Silver buckles, and a custom pair of Feneglio boots.

Don’t miss the action as these super star bovine athletes such as Corpus Red, Gold Buckle, Karaoke, Little Shyster, and Cadillac Red, post amazing scores that are supplemented by the time ridden to culminate in a total bull-team score. Many times the separation between first and second is less than one tenth of a point. All eyes will be on this competition as the prize in Cheyenne for the winning team is more than $100,000 check and the title of 2015 CBR World Champion Bull Team.

Fox Sports 2, which reaches more than 85 million homes through more than two dozen owned and affiliated networks, will begin televising the sixty-minute series beginning Wednesday, January 6, 2015 at 10:00 pm EST.

“CBR is extremely excited to be broadcast on Fox Sports Net’s programming lineup in 2016”, stated Josh Oakley, Director of Acquisitions for FSN, “Bull riding has a very passionate fan base that has helped solidify FSN as the home of the CBR. We look forward to continuing to build on that audience over the coming years”.

Benny Cude, Championship Bull Ridings’ Chairman also commented, “We are very pleased with the continued partnership between CBR and FSN. Our fan base continues to grow and the passion they feel for the sport of bull riding is evident in the numbers. We look forward to continuing to provide great programming to CBR fans nationwide.”
