“If you Want it, Work for It”

Twenty five year old cowboy Eli Vastbinder is in his second season on the CBR Mahindra  Road to Cheyenne tour. This year the North Carolina bull rider had 16 outs and posted 8 qualified rides to finish the season with a 50% riding average and landed in 17th place in the CBR World Standings headed into Cheyenne. Qualifying for the finals was no easy feat for the 5’10 bull rider who spent six weeks on the sidelines due to a mid-season injury.

The highlight of Eli’s season thus far was two 90 point plus rides (Jackson and Del Rio) and conquering Cude Bucking Bulls’ No Hands and Loe and Melton’s Crimson King.

Vastbinder, originally from Ohio, but hails a North Carolina address, credits bull riding guru Gary Lefflew as his mentor.

2013-14 was Eli Vastbinder’s rookie year and he made an immediate impact on the CBR during the 2014 season and as a result was selected by Mahindra USA to represent the company as a Mahindra Young Gun.

The Casstown, Ohio native who is currently living in North Carolina, debuted on the Mahindra Road to Cheyenne Tour in January of 2014 and never looked back. In March of 2014, Vastbinder posted the highest mark of his career, 91.5, in the final round of the Eldorado Resort Casino Shreveport Tuff Hedeman Louisiana Shootout in Bossier City. The highlight of his breakout season was in April when he took home the CBR Tuff Hedeman Vegas Shootout gold buckle, his first major tour win.  He went three for three including a 90 point winning ride in the Shootout Round aboard the infamous bucking bull Gold Buckle. Eli qualified for his first CBR World Finals and rode two out of three and finished the 2013-14 CBR season ranked 5th.

2015, while missing the title wins, has been somewhat the same statistically for Vastbinder. For the second consecutive year, Vastbinder has ridden 50 percent of his bulls at the CBR televised events with two of those rides earning 90 points or more.

“When you come to the CBR, you know you are guaranteed to get on a good bull”, said Vastbinder as he stays in shape for the upcoming CBR World Finals.

Vastbinder who is active on Twitter and Facebook never misses an opportunity to thank his fans and family for their support.
