Rockin R Bucking Bulls Dominate to Win 2014 CBR Futurity World Championship

Conroe, Texas - October 4, 2014 - Championship Bull Riding caught a glimpse of the future today as they showcased 90 of their rising stars to kick off the Inaugural Conroe Bull Mania at the Lone Star Expo Center.

At the end of the three hour event Rockin R Bucking Bulls, Sulphur, Okla., was at the top of the tally sheet. Rockin R, owned by Chad Ramer and David Findley, put together a fierce team of three seasoned two year old buckers to win the CBR Championship Futurity Tour that comes with the title of 2014 CFT World Champion Futurity team and more importantly, a check for $50,000.00

With 30 teams participating for a total of $135,000 payout, the CBR’s finale to the four-stop tour featured the crème of the crop of the industry’s four legged superstars. The judges determined the bovine athletes’ total score based on their accomplishments in the five categories of competition: buck, spin, kick, intensity and degree of difficulty with 100 total possible points available. Each team consists of three two-year-old bulls that will buck with an electronic riding dummy that automatically releases off of the bull after five seconds, giving the animal equal opportunity to perform. Four judges evaluate the bulls, each scoring them 1-25 for a total possible score of 100. Then the team’s scores are added together with the highest total score garnering the biggest check.

“Our goal was simply to put the best bulls on a team and be competitive,” said Ramer immediately following the announcement that his team had won. Can’t argue with that, can you?  When it comes to putting teams together Ramer is no stranger to the winner’s circle.  Representing some of the most successful bloodlines in competitive bucking bulls, Ramer’s team consisted of genes from three of the most recognizable bucking bulls in the sport’s history.  Mossy Oak Mudslinger, Hotel California and Sasquatch.

262Z, a descendant of Mossy Oak Mudslinger, was out first for Ramer exploding out of the chutes while turning back instantly with power, good extension, and a lot of speed. Known to many as Chaturanga, this bull was the 2014 American Heritage Futurity Champion. 262Z marked 89 points.

The bull bucking second for the team, 01Z, posted the highest score of the three with 92 points. 01Z, often called Rocco, is a black bald-faced bull sired by Surefire out of a Crossfire Hurricane daughter.

In the third slot for Ramer and Findley was Z26 Fire Hazard, a black and brown tiger striped son of Sasquatch, an NFR Finals bull, who according to the skipper had been strong all year but had his best trip today at the Lone Star Arena. “Z26 placed second and third in the early rounds at the UBBI Finals last weekend,” continued Ramer. “But he changed a lot in the past 60 days and we switched sides on him to kind of wake him up and get him prepared for the finals.”

“Fantastic and there’s more to come”, were the first words spoken by Findley via cell phone from South Africa where he lives and works.  “Chad and I started by buying 2 or 3 bulls together and it has just grown from there.” It’s all been good and today it just got better,” said an overjoyed Findley.

Winning the CBR Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge multiple times, Ramer’s is a perennial contender in all facets of the bucking bull industry.
