The Art of Manliness

The Art of Manliness
A trophy belt buckle, the subject of hundreds of conversations over the last 100 years, not because of its value, but because of its placement.
That’s the power of a gold buckle - it sends signals about who we are, what commitments we have made, and our status in society.
Hyo Silver crafts an exclusive collection of timeless jewelry and trophy buckles that capture the southern legacy of gold and silver while representing one of the ultimate signs of manhood  - rodeo.
One of the perks of being crowned CBR World Champion is the trophy and the gold buckle that accompanies the title. Hyo Silver, the official buckle maker of the CBR, also crafted the World Title Trophy.
“We are extremely proud to have a great partner and sponsor like Hyo Silver.  They have done an outstanding job with the CBR World Title Trophy and all the buckles that represent the path to the world championship,” said CEO Benny Cude.
But beauty, fame and fashion are not always the only powers of a trophy buckle. The 2014 Road to Cheyenne was filled with “gold buckle” moments each revolving around a buckle.
Each event on The Road to Cheyenne tour features the Hyo Silver buckle being awarded to the bull riding champion as well as the bull team champion and high marked bovine athletes at the event, but this year we witnessed cowboys forgoing their prized buckles in amazing acts of generosity and sportsmanship that resulted in memorable moments that will live on for years to come on our walls and in our hearts.
CBR World Champion, Sage Kimzey, donated his first Hyo Silver CBR event win buckle to the benefit for retired bullfighter and CBR staff member, James Pierce, who was fighting cancer.  The buckle was purchased by Randy Schmutz and Frontier Rodeo Company for $5,000 dollars and moments later given back to Sage in a jaw dropping, tear jerking moment at the benefit auction.
Aaron Pass, who was selected thru a nationwide fan-voting contest as the “Smokey Mountain Fan Favorite” bull rider of CBR for 2014, donated his buckle to Haleigh Lansford, one of CBR’s most devoted bull riding fans who was on hand to see Pass receive his accolades courtesy of Smokey Mountain.
The trophy which was on display at Cheyenne Frontier Days and then presented to 2014 World Champion Sage Kimzey at the CBR World Finals in July, returns to Fort Worth, Texas to reside in the Stockyards Museum in for fans and tourists to admire until it will load up and return to Cheyenne to await the crowning of the 2015 World Champion.
