CBR Coming to Jackson, TN

The Oman Arena in Jackson, Tenn., will be home to the Championship Bull Riding (CBR) Bud Light Bull Riding Classic presented by Alan Vines Automotive on Jan 17-18, 2014.
A legacy that spans nearly two decades of bull riding action, both nights will feature the best of CBRs riders and bulls. Friday nights performance is part of the Horizon Series Tour that often calls attention to talented up and comers, while Saturday nights $30,000 competition is part of the nationally televised Road to Cheyenne Tour. The Road to Cheyenne Tour will pay nearly one-half million dollars in prize money during the 2014 season. It culminates in Wyoming at the legendary Cheyenne Frontier Days where CBRs World Champion will be crowned.
The very popular tournament-style format will be featured on Saturday. It starts with 24 of the worlds best riders; that number will be narrowed down to 12 in the semi-finals and then four in the shoot-out round. The competition is especially exciting for fans as they have the opportunity to see some of their favorite riders get on three bulls in one night.
Expected to be among those riders is last years Bud Light Bull Riding Classic Champion Cody Teel from Kountze, Texas. Teel had a total score of 265.5 on three rides for the victory. He was just coming off of winning the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association world championship when he won the 2013 Jackson CBR event.
Jackson was great for me, Teel said. I had some momentum and confidence built up. I was able to use that to stay on three great bulls. I hope I can do it all over again this year.
Through the Road to Cheyenne tour events, bull riders accumulate points for each successful 8-second ride.  The contestant with the most points at the end of the season is crowned CBRs world champion and receives a $100,000 bonus.
Additionally, the Bud Light Bull Riding Classic presented by Alan Vines Automotive will be a stop on the Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge. Owners will select three bulls to bring to Jackson to compete as part of the Bull Team Challenge. Those bulls earn points for their performance in the arena and for how long a bull rider stays on. At the end of the night, the owner with the three highest-scoring bulls will receive $25,000.

Tickets are on sale now and are available in Jackson at Rustic Soul or online at Dirt Road Tickets.  CBR's 2013 season is reairing on FOX Sports Networks.  Check local listings HERE.
