First Night In Del Rio Lives Up to Reputation

What a perfect evening for bull riding at the Val Verde County Fairgrounds in  Del Rio, Texas last evening for the first night of the George Paul Memorial. It was the bulls who really stole the show in what Tuff Hedeman proclaimed as “the rankest pen we have ever seen at the GPM”.
Three world Champions Bonner Bolton, JW Harris and Wesley Silcox all had 90 point rides and young gun Trey Benton rounded out the list of the top scores with an additional 90. Chandler Bownds was the top name on the list scoring a 91 on the sensational Sellers/ Daniels bull Black Betty.  Chandler had a shot on the bounty bull for the chance to win  a brand new truck provided by Ram Country Dodge but fell short of completing 8 seconds.
Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team winner honors go to Cory Melton.
The second night of exciting bull riding at the one and only George Paul Memorial continues tonight 7pm!
