CBR Riders Fair Well In San Antonio- Wrap-Up

CBR Riders at San Antonio; Round-by-Round Recap

               The PRCA rodeo in San Antonio wrapped up on Sunday evening. The final round wrapped up the twenty-performance event and, of the ten bull riders who qualified for the finals, five are ranked in this yearís Road to Cheyenne Tour standings.

               Three-time PRCA World Champion, J.W. Harris, took an early lead in the competition by winning the first performance. J.W. went on to win the third performance of his bracket and advance to the semi-finals. Each semi-finals at San Antonio has two rounds and J.W. won both rounds, putting him in the number-one position going into finals.

               Cole Echols, also in J.W.ís bracket, won the second round of competition and advanced to the semi-finals, then the final round. CBR rider Wesley Silcox took the top spot in round four but fell out of competition before the finals. CBR fan favorite Chandler Bownds won the eighth performance and advanced through the semi-finals and onto the finals.

               2012 PRCA World Champion and current CBR Road to Cheyenne Tour standings leader, Cody Teel, won the eleventh performance. Fellow CBR rider Ardie Maier put up a 91 in the twelfth round to take first. Both riders advanced through the semi-finals and into the final round.

               The final round of competition at San Antonio saw some of the toughest bucking bulls in the world. Although no CBR riders made the whistle, J.W. Harris finished third and Cody Teel finished in fourth place for the rodeo. You can view complete results at
