CBR Riders Lead at San Antonio

CBR Riders Lead at San Antonio

Two of Championship Bull Riding’s top ten riders have an early lead at the San Antonio PRCA Rodeo. Three-time PRCA World Champion J.W. Harris won the first round on Thursday night with an impressive 90-point score aboard Beutler & Son Rodeo’s bull, Gangbuster. J.W. is currently fifth in the Road to Cheyenne Tour standings. Cole Echols, who is sitting seventh on the CBR tour, dominated the field on Friday night and took first with a 78-point ride on Alligator Chomp.

Each rider will have one more bull to attempt before advancing to the finals. Finals qualifications at San Antonio are based on earnings, not points, so J.W. and Cole are tied with $1,965 going into their third performance.

San Antonio is considered one of rodeo’s most prestigious events and has been named the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year multiple years, including 2012. The rodeo will run through February 24th and you can follow the complete results at Check for updates on your favorite CBR riders by coming back to
