Jared Long Wins First Tour Event In El Paso
On a chilly night it was the sell-out crowd in El Paso for The Casa Ford Tuff Hedeman West Texas Showdown Presented by Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino that nearly stole the show. For two hours straight the enthusiastic fans cheered, sang and danced and watched at Oklahoma native Jared Long rode to win the night of his life.
Long was the only rider of the evening to ride all of his bulls in three rounds of competition. Pyrmid, 84.5 (Collom Bucking Bulls) and Bloomer, 87 (B & M Bucking Bulls) in the long and semi-final round and Blue Duck 88.5 ( Carr Prorodeo)  in the Shoot Out round giving him a total of 260 points.
“Amazing”, were the first words out of this mouth after being asked about his win. “This is my first tour win and to do it in front of a crowd like this. It’s a great feeling.”
Long was joined in the Shoot Out Round by Cooper Davis, Cooper Kanngiesser and Cole Echols. Davis and Echols have experience a run of good bulls lately with Davis winning last week’s event in Lubbock. The veteran Kanngiesser is a two time reserve World Champion and improves his ranking with his two rides tonight.
The Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team win goes to the Dalton Gang who take home a nice check and also the High Marked Bull and Bull of the Event honors for their bull Shine Time after a 91.5 ride with Aaron Pass.
The CBR takes a one week break and resumes on “ The Road To Cheyenne” for the always popular Lufkin Bull Bash presented by Fish & Still Equipment with special guest Joe Nichols on Saturday February 23rd in East Texas.
