Former CBR World Champion Bonner Bolton Wins in Hobbs

A familiar name to Championship Bull Riding, 2007 World Champ Bonner Bolton, made his first appearance on the “2013 Road to Cheyenne Tour” for the season and rode every bull he drew, taking home with him a hefty check and shiny Hy O Silver buckle.
Bonner was first out on the Cooper/Scruggs/Lane bull Bring da Wood for an 87.5. He followed it up on another Cooper/Scruggs/Lane bull, Cash Daddy for a whopping 90 point ride in the semi-final round. Bolton lead the four man field in the championship round and was last out on the 2012 CBR Bull of The Year, Bugle, owned by Greg Talbert, and scored 91 points clenching the win!
Bolton was very emotional after his win, “Professionally this is a great day for me, personally it was very tough. I lost two close friends this week and I dedicate this win to Shae and Cade and hope that God received them this week with open arms.” When asked if we will see more of his this season, his answer, “I hope so,” with a grin.
Lyndal Hurst was the other big name of the night. His pen of bulls stole the show. Hurst walks away with a Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team win and high marked bull honors for his bull Palace Station John Doe.
More tour action continues in Lubbock, Texas next week, Saturday February 2nd.  Results and scores on and CBR Facebook.
