South Dakota Cowboy Wins In Front Of Home Crowd

In front of a record crowd, the Cinch CBR Tour kicked off its 2013 season with an unbelievable show in Huron, South Dakota. The top bull riders came from all over the nation, but South Dakota native, Ardie Maier, took the win by riding all three bulls and getting the highest marked ride in the final round. Maier is the first CBR bull rider to win an event that features the new lucrative and first of its kind, CBR “8” second format.  The format guarantees bull riders prize money in each round if they ride their bull. As each bull rider advances to the next round, they win more for each 8 second ride and it culminates with a sudden death final round.

“It is an honor to win in front of my home State. ” said Maier when asked about his win by CBR President Tuff Hedeman. “I am thankful to make a living doing what I love and I truly appreciate all my fans and sponsors for their support.”

The crown for the Bull of the event went to Sandy Bob owned by Brad Vogle Bucking Bulls and the Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Huron event win goes to Ferguson/ Harris. They take home a $25,000 check and move up in the Bull Team standings.
