2012 CBR World Championship at Cheyenne Frontier Days Final Results
The 2012 CBR World Championships at Cheyenne Frontier Days can go down in the record books as one of the best bull ridings ever in the history of the sport, and thousands were there to witness it.
It was a suspenseful evening with two neck-in-neck battles, one for the World title the other for the event win. Luis Blanco and Josh Barentine battled all season for the lead in the CINCH World Standings and it literally came down to the final night and the final ride to determine who would win. After Barentine covered all three of his bulls over the last two days and Luis was not as lucky it was clear who the victor would be. Johnson Bayou, Louisiana can celebrate their Champion as Josh Barentine claims his victory, a $100,000 bonus, a hand- made trophy saddle made by Juan Jose Andrade, the Hy O Silver championship buckle and the 2012 CBR World Champion title. (Buffalo Hump-Talbert Bucking Bulls, 90.5. Evil Twin-Rawson Bucking Bulls 91. Lumber Jack – Rawson Bucking Bulls 92.5)
The other thriller of the evening was the battle between former PRCA World Champions Wesley Silcox and JW Harris for the event title win. Harris and Silcox tied for the lead last night and continued to duke it out the second night. In the end it was Silcox who edged out his competitor by half a point to win the Cheyenne Frontier Days Championship. (Silcox-Jungle Juice-Brad Vogele 92.5. Canadian Cadillac Rhinestone Renegade 91.5. Rotten Apple- Apple Dumpling Gang 90.5. ) Harris- Itch and Scratch-Box K, Lancaster & Jones 92.5. Greenhorn-7 Rocking X 90.5. CINCH Red Label Cody Ohl & Little Bear Creek Ranch 90.5)
