Tuff’s Picks for Cheyenne, Round One

Tonight kicks off the 2012 CBR World Championships at Cheyenne Frontier Days. This is the event guys have been working toward all year and, the way the standings are right now, there’s still a few guys with a shot to win the world title. It will be interesting to see where the standings are after tonight’s round because there’s some good matchups in the draw.

Aaron Pass is the first guy out tonight and he’s got a bull called Blue Duck from Scott Burruss. He’s an awesome bull and he should fit Aaron really well. I think he’s one Aaron should ride and he could be 88 to 90 points on him.

Cole Echols has drawn Bugle, a bull that’s in the running for Neckover Trailers Bull of the Year. They’ve won a ton of money on this bull and he’s definitely one Cole can be 90 on if he sticks with him.

Stetson Lewis has a bull of Lyndal Hurst’s, One Eyed Jack. He’s ridden him once before and he can be a lot of points on this bull. I think there’s a chance he can win the round but he should definitely be in the top five or six.

Craig Jackson has a bull called Rocko of Danny Reagan’s that he just rode for 7.5 seconds before he bucked him off. I think he’s got a good shot to get him rode here in Cheyenne. If he does, he’s definitely got a chance at some money.

PRCA World Champ J.W. Harris has drawn Itch & Scratch. I think J.W.’s probably pretty motivated right now after coming off a three-month break from having surgery. They won Pecos, Texas on this bull. J.W.’s got a chance to be 90 on him and win the round.

Being able to have our World Finals in Cheyenne is pretty neat for everyone here. The riders and staff are all excited to be here at Frontier Days and tonight’s round should be another great event. With several guys in contention for the buckle there’s a lot on the line.
