Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge Finals Preview

The Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge finalists will face off at the CBR World Championships in Cheyenne on Tuesday. The top stock contractors in the CBR have been competing all year for a spot in the finals and will bring their best bulls for this one-of-a-kind competition. Each of the 17 qualifying teams comes into the Cheyenne event with a clean slate so every contractor has an equal shot at a piece of the $250,000 payout.

Talbert Bucking Bulls is one team looking to clinch two titles in Cheyenne. Team owner Greg Talbert is hoping his team will win the Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge Finals and one of the bulls on his team is in the running for Neckover Trailers Bull of the Year. Talbertís bull, 288 Bugle, is currently leading the Bull of the Year standings but sealing the title requires his performance in Cheyenne. With Bugle as the teamís anchor, Talbert Bucking Bulls stands a strong shot at bringing a check home from Cheyenne.

Stock contractor and former Professional Womenís Rodeo Association Bareback Riding Champion, Joy Hawks, is bringing two bull teams to Cheyenne, doubling her chances of heading home to Texas a little bit richer. Joyís teams, Rhinestone Renegades and Apple Dumpling Gang, had four top finishes in 2012. Rhinestone Renegades won the Team Challenge events in Fort Worth and Lufkin. Joy also has a bull in the running for Bull of the Year honors. Mission Top will be the short round bull for Rhinestone Renegades. With two proven teams in the lineup and a Bull of the Year contender headed to Cheyenne, you can bet Joy Hawks is looking to cash in big time.

All Star Ranch has a hand in three teams heading to the Team Challenge Finals. In addition to team Cooper/All Star/Scruggs, All Star Ranch also manages The Cattle Boys and Johnson Cattle Company teams. The partnershipís star athlete and two-time CBR Bull of the Year, Dakota Magicís Double Scoop, will be competing for The Cattle Boys. Max Energyís Curly Bob, who is also in contention for the Neckover Trailers Bull of the Year title, will be the short round bull for the All Star Ranch team. Johnson Cattle Company, owned by Danny Johnson, will have Paleface Jose and IMABADCAT both on its roster. Thereís no question that All Star Ranch and its partners have the bull power to bring the heat in Cheyenne but whether they have enough to bring home the buckle remains to be seen.

No bucking bull competition would be complete without Hurst Bucking Bulls in the lineup. Stock contractor Lyndal Hurst makes another appearance at the Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge Finals in 2012 with a new team roster. The CBR ďName the BullĒ contest bull, Palace Station John Doe, will be a part of Hurstís team, as well as Soul Gravy and Gotit. Nothing steps on Hurstís trailer if it doesnít buck and the team heís bringing to Cheyenne is surely no exception.

PRCA World Champion Cody Ohl & Little Bear Creek Ranch started the Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge Finals season off right with a win at the Hobbs Tuff Hedeman Championship Bull Riding in January and didnít look back. Cody knows what it takes to assemble a winning team and the experienced competitor in him will have Cinch Up, Cinch White Label and Cinch Red Label ready to perform in Cheyenne.

The Dalton Gang, owned by Norris Dalton, will be making the trip to Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge Finals appearance this year. This team franchise won the team challenge at the 35th Annual George Paul Memorial in May. The teamís short round bull, Shine Time, has only been ridden once and the entire team has consistently high bull scores, making The Dalton Gang one to watch in the finals.

Exclusive Genetics, the group responsible for the Million Dollar Bucking Bull Futurity, has two teams headed to finals. The Jaynes Gang/Exclusive Genetics/Team Bays and The Jaynes Gang/Exclusive Genetics/Team Dail & Fourtier enjoyed several top finishes this year. With a depth of talented bulls to choose from, both teams will have a good shot at winning a check in Cheyenne.
