Tuff’s Picks for the 2012 CBR Cinch Tour Season Opener in Hobbs, NM

Championship Bull Riding is ready to get started with the 2012 season tonight in Hobbs, NM. We’re excited to get the tour kicked off and produce the first event to be broadcast on FOX SPORTS NETWORK (FSN).
As always, we’ve got a lot of good match-ups in store tonight. Hectar Cardona from Mexico is up in the first section on Like Mike, which is a bull they ride quite a bit but every time they’re 87 to 90 on him. This boy rides real well and he probably won’t win the round but he should be able to be in the top four or five.
His traveling partner, Gustavo Pedrero, is leading the standings right now before the first Cinch Tour event. He did really well at the Horizon event in Tennessee last weekend. He’s drawn a really, really good bull that Cody Ohl owns and he’s definitely one to watch tonight.
Chandler Bownds has a bull of Danny Reagan’s called Captain Morgan. Chandler’s gotten a lot more consistent and whenever he rides one there’s probably nobody that makes it look better than he does. He makes bull riding look pretty cool so if he rides this bull he’ll be a lot of points.
Trey Benton’s got Directory Assistance. This is a bull everybody likes to get on. They ride him quite a bit but they’re usually first, second, or third on him. Trey’s another young kid but he rides extremely well so I expect he’s got a good chance.
It’s always good to come back to Hobbs. I grew up in West Texas and New Mexico and they’ve got a lot of great bull riding fans here. We’ve always had a great turnout and ticket sales are ahead of any year we’ve ever been here. I think that’s a good sign that 2012 will be the best year the CBR’s had.
