JW Harris Wins Round 8 at NFR and Takes the Average Lead

Three-time PRCA World Champion and CBR rider, JW Harris, came one step closer to securing his fourth world title last night during round eight at NFR. The Texas cowboy held onfor an 87.5 ride on Korcow Rodeos Black Velvet. Harris, who has been riding with a broken foot, gave the crowd a rush when he ended up under his bull last night.

“He just brushed me a bit. I wanted to make sure I sold tickets and gave folks their monies worth,” chuckled Harris after his ride. He continued, “The highlight was having Donnie Gay call me Stud Muffin,” he joked.

Donnie Gay elaborated on his comical statement, “JW is such a great rider. He knows just what it takes to get him that buckle. He deserves the title Stud Muffin”.

All joking aside, Harris has been working through several injuries this year at NFR. His hard earned win last night gives him the lead in the average and takes him closer to a fourth World Champion title.

2011 CBR World Champion Clayton Foltyn also achieved some success with an 85.5 ride on Zombie Zoo. Foltyn is currently seventh in the world standings.

Two rounds remain at  the 2011 NFR and the CBR will keep you posted on all the latest developments.
