Kitchen Wins Horizon Finals, White Wraps up Championship Title

Texas cowboy Ronnie Kitchens left the CBR Horizon Series Finals in Winnie, Tex. with a few thousand dollars in his pocket and the keys to a brand new Dodge truck. After placing sixth in both long rounds, Kitchens took third in the short go to pass Josh Barentine and claim the event win. His earnings at the finals also moved Kitchens up to fifth place in the standings for the year.

Josh Barentine won the first two go-rounds of the finals and rode his bull for 78 points in the short round. The score was good enough for sixth place in the round but left the door open for Kitchens to pass him by just over a point. Barentine left the finals with over $9,000 and the Reserve Champion buckle.

The final event of the 2011 Horizon Series meant the close of this year’s race for the year-end title. Cody White of Johnson City, Tex. went into the finals sitting first in the standings. He held onto his lead and was named the 2011 CBR Horizon Champion.  Chase Outlaw also maintained his position into the standings and is the 2011 CBR Horizon Reserve Champion.
