Fort Worth, Texas (August 10, 2011) ~ It will surely be a “show-down” in Lubbock this weekend, at the Mahindra Tractors West Texas Showdown as Championship Bull Riding’s (CBR)  top cowboys battle it out for a $10,000 bonus and the  rights to the Mahindra Tractors CBR Texas Swing (MTTS) Title.  With four of the qualifying events out of the way, this weekend’s Lubbock event will be the last and final event to determine the series champion. Last year’s Texas Swing winner, Luke Kelley, also clenched the title - 2010 CBR World Champion.
Five CINCH CBR Tour events in the state of Texas accrued points in the separate Mahindra Texas Swing standings. The five cities include El Paso, Lufkin, Fort Worth, Del Rio and Lubbock. The rider with the most points after Lubbock, wins the Mahindra Tractors CBR Texas Swing title, as well as, a $10,000 bonus awarded by Mahindra Tractors.
Coming out of the George Paul Memorial, Lucas Dick, a Manhattan, KS native, held on to his lead after successful rides in both Lufkin and Fort Worth.  Hot on his tail is 3-time PRCA World Champion J.W. Harris, followed by Ardie Maier.  Maier, who will not be riding this weekend due to injuries sustained in Cheyenne, WY at the CBR event, leaves the door wide open for Cooper Kanngiesser, another Kansas cowboy and Lubbock’s hometown champion, Chandler Bownds.  The 2010 Texas Swing Championship was not decided until the final ride of the Lubbock event.  Another exciting finish to the 2011 series is expected. Final results will be posted on the CBR website www.CBRBull.com.
