Kenny Westrope Wins First CBR Performance at “The Daddy”

Championship Bull Riding debuted at Cheyenne Frontier Days tonight and “Skinny Kenny” Westrope came out on top of the leader board with a final score of 88.5. Kenny pocketed $10,000 cash and a Henry rifle for winning the first-ever Cinch Tour event at The Daddy of ‘em All.

Kenny rode Shippy Brand and Luedke’s Crisis Management to the tune of 88.5 points in the long round. CBR stock contractors brought the heat to Cheyenne and, at the end of the Championship round, not a single bull rider had two scores. Kenny’s high-marked ride in the long round was enough to edge out Cinch Tour standings leader Clayon Foltyn by half a point.

Crisis Management was named Bull of the Event for his role in carrying Kenny to a win in the first performance at Cheyenne. He was also High Point Bull for the evening’s performance.

Tonight’s round was also the Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge Finals, the highest-paying single-day bucking bull competition in history. CBR bull teams from across the country came to Cheyenne to compete for $225,000 in cash. The Washburn Company took first place in the bull team challenge with a score of 284. The win earned team owner Owen Washburn $75,000.

CBR’s first performance at The Daddy brought droves of the top rodeo fans in the West, who enjoyed a fireworks show at the end of the bull riding action. The second performance of CBR in Cheyenne will be held tomorrow evening. Keep checking in at for the latest updates from Cheyenne Frontier Days.
