Craig Jackson Gets Big Win in El Paso

Fort Worth, TX (February 13, 2011)- There was standing-room only in El Paso last night as fans packed the El Paso County Coliseum for another exciting CINCH CBR Tour event!  Craig Jackson electrified the crowd with two 90-point rides, and that was more than enough to put him in the winner's circle.  The Houston, TX, bull rider won the long round with a 91-point ride on Tapout, and he backed that up with a 91.5-point ride on 2010 CBR Bull of the Year Dakota Magic's Double Scoop in the Championship Round.  The 182.5 points on two bulls was more than three points clear of second place.  Along with the victory and winner's check, Jackson also received a Resistol 20X Cowboy Hat and a Henry Custom CBR Golden Boy Rifle.

J.W. Harris won the event in Hobbs two weeks ago, and he continued his momentum with a runner-up finish in El Paso last night.  He was 88.5 points in the long round, and that put him in great shape heading into the short go.  He rode Glory Days in the Championship Round, and that ride was worth 90.5 points.  The three-time PRCA World Champion ended with 179 points.  Kenny Westrope also rode both his bulls, and he finished third with 177 points.  Tag Elliot finished fourth with 176.5 points, Lorenzo Rios finished fifth with 176.5 points, and Luke Haught rounded out the top six with 176 points.

The CBR Casa Ford Tuff Hedeman West Texas Shootout was also the first event in this year's $10,000 Mahindra Tractors CBR Texas Swing.  Event winner Craig Jackson is at the top of the standings after El Paso, and he will hold the lead going into the Lufkin event in two weeks.  J.W. Harris is currently second, while Kenny Westrope is third.  This race came down to the very last bull in 2010, and this year's race is going to be very exciting as well.

The CINCH CBR Tour stop in El Paso was also another Palace Station CBR Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge.  The King/Herrington team stood above the rest and walked away with the $22,500 winner's check.  The team consisted of Directory Assistance, Lounge Lizard, and Son Of A Buck.  This is the same trio of bulls that won second in Hobbs.  The Washburn Company finished second in El Paso, and their team included Chocolate Joey, Daddy's Boy, and Heaven's Gate.

The All Star/Cooper is no stranger to success in the CBR Bull Team Challenge, and that continued last night with a third-place finish.  The team consisted of Dakota Magic's Double Scoop, Curly Bob, and Call To Duty.  Team Climatemaster Geothermal finished fourth, XS Ranch finished fifth, and there was a tie for sixth between Talbert & Schmutz and FNO/Frontier.

The bull of the event was Dakota Magic's Double Scoop of Cooper/All Star/Scruggs.  He combined with Craig Jackson on an electrifying 91.5-point ride in the Championship Round.  The high-marked bull of the event was Chocolate Joey.  He is owned by Owen Washburn, and he bucked off Nate Perry and was scored 90 points.

Championship Bull Riding will be off next weekend before heading to Lufkin, TX, on February 26th for the third event of the 2011 CINCH CBR Tour season.  It's always one of the best events of the season, and this year's will be no different.  Keep checking for news, updates, event previews and recaps, key match-ups, etc.  Also, please visit the Championship Bull Riding Facebook and Twitter page if you haven't already.
