Five Riders I'd Like to See More in 2011

There are a number of great bull riders in the CBR, but there are always going to be riders the fans would like to see enter more events throughout the course of the season.  All the riders on my list have ridden in Championship Bull Riding in the past, but none of them entered many events during 2010.  All the guys are extremely talented and are capable of contending for a CBR World Title if they enter enough events next year.

I've put together a list of five riders I'd like to see more in 2011.  Some have been top-15 guys in the past, while some haven't entered many CBR events so far in their respective careers.  If you have anything to add, please visit our Facebook page and voice your opinion.  Also, you can always email me at:  codythrasher@cbrbull.com.  Enjoy!

Kanin Asay
Kanin Asay has been one of the best bull riders in the PRCA over the last few years.  He finished fifth in the PRCA standings in 2010 after a decent WNFR, and he also finished fifth in 2009.  Asay has ridden in some CBR events, but he hasn't entered many.  He is a very talented bull rider, and there is no doubt in my mind he can be a contender for the CBR World Title if he enters enough events in 2011.  He entered a Horizon Series event a month or so ago, so maybe CBR fans will see him more next year.

Pistol Robinson
Pistol Robinson has ridden in Championship Bull Riding the last few years, and he has contended for the gold buckle on a couple occasions.  He finished second in the 2007 standings and ninth in the 2009 standings.  Robinson only entered a couple CBR events in 2010, including a third-place finish in Fort Worth.  He has proven he has the talent to ride bulls as well as anyone when he enters, and hopefully we will see more of him next year.  He has already entered a couple 2011 Horizon Series events, and he's currently eighth in the standings.

Shawn Hogg
Shawn Hogg came out of nowhere in 2010 and was a serious contender for a PRCA World Title heading into Las Vegas.  He didn't have the WNFR he wanted, but he still finished ninth in the final 2010 standings.  When healthy, this guy can ride at a high level.  Hogg entered a few CBR events in 2010, but he didn't have much luck.  If he decides to enter more in 2011, he can make a big impact on the season standings and possibly contend for the gold buckle.  I know I'd sure like to see him make a run at it.

Douglas Duncan
Douglas Duncan has ridden in Championship Bull Riding the last few years, but he only went to a few televised events in 2010.  He has finished as high as 15th in the CBR standings (2008) in the past, and I've always thought he had as much talent as any bull rider in the world.  He has qualified for the CBR Finals and Wrangler National Finals before, and the sky is the limit for his future in the sport.  Duncan started the 2011 season well by finishing fifth in Springtown a few weeks ago.  He is currently in the top 20 in the 2011 CBR standings, and hopefully that's a sign we will see more of him next year.

Cody Whitney
Cody Whitney has been a top-level bull rider for several years, and he has had success all across the United States.  He is coming off a fourth-place finish at this year's WNFR, and he finished the season seventh in the PRCA World Standings.  He also qualified for the 2009 WNFR.  As far as the CBR goes, Whitney has finished as high as 20th in the season standings (2009).  He also won the Biloxi event in early 2009, so he has proven he can ride at the highest level.  He didn't enter many CBR events in 2010, but hopefully that changes next year.  Cody is an asset wherever he rides, and it would be great to see him more in 2011.
