2010 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo: Day Six Recap

Night six of the 2010 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo saw eight bull riders make the whistle.  J.W. Harris continued his hot streak by winning the round after an 89.5-point ride on Fast Lane.  Wesley Silcox also made a stand by finishing second with an 88.5-point ride on North Star.  Clayton Williams rode Black Gold for 87 points, and that was good enough for third.  Cody Whitney finished fourth with 86.5 points, while Corey Navarre rounded out the top five with 85.5 points.  Championship Bull Riding was well represented at the top of the round six leader board.

Harris has now ridden five out of six at this year's WNFR, and he is still first in the average with 444 points.  Whitney is right behind Harris with 421 points after also starting 5-for-6.  Kanin Asay rode his fourth bull last night, and he is third in the average with 344 points.  Williams also continued his hot streak by riding his fourth bull last night, and he is fourth in the average with 340 points.  Silcox has started to heat things up a little, and he moved up to sixth in the average after a slow start.

After six rounds of bull riding, Wesley Silcox is still holding onto the top spot in the World Standings.  That being said, J.W. Harris has moved to within $2,000 after winning another round last night.  Clayton Williams is now third, while Kanin Asay is fourth.  These four along with Cody Whitney are going to battle it out over the next four rounds to see who will be crowned this year's World Champion Bull Rider.  It's going to be exciting down to the wire.

CBR Bull Team owner Cody Ohl continued his domination with another round win in tie-down roping.  The round win moved him up to third in the World Standings.  Round seven of the 2010 WNFR is tonight, and that action will be on ESPN Classic starting at 9:00PM Central Time.  Keep checking CBRBull.com for updates, news, key match-ups, etc.

Two Key Match-Ups For Round Seven
Bobby Welsh on Reeces Pieces is a rematch from a couple years ago at the WNFR.  Welsh rode this bull for almost 90 points that time, and he is starting to ride better this year after a slow start.  Reeces Pieces is a bull owned by Andrews Rodeo Co.  He has been pretty tough to get by the last few months, and he has had several bull scores in the 45-47 point range.  Right-handed riders have had more success against this bull, and that will favor Bobby in this match-up.  This one should be in the high 80s or low 90s.

J.W. Harris on Smoke Screen is another rematch, although this one happened just a couple months ago.  Harris was 89 points on this bull in September of 2010, and he is currently leading the average at this year's WNFR after starting 5-for-6.  Smoke Screen is a bull owned by Frontier Rodeo Co.  He has only been ridden twice in 30 outs, so he is normally a tough one to get by.  That being said, there aren't many bulls that can buck J.W. Harris off right now.  This one might be another round winner.
