Luke Kelley and Steve Woolsey Win Big on Night Two in Kansas City

Fort Worth, TX (October 9, 2010)- The 2010 CINCH CBR Tour presented by Mahindra Tractors wrapped up its season Saturday night, and Luke Kelley was crowned the 2010 CBR World Champion.  He came into the Tour Finale with a $30,000 lead in the title race, and that lead held up through both days.  Along with winning the gold buckle, he also walked away with the $100,000 check for being the World Champion.  Kelley had an awesome second half of the season, and he earned the title.

Luke Kelley had this to say about being crowned the 2010 CBR World Champion bull rider.  "It's a really good feeling.  It's what we work for all year.  I want to thank everyone who has supported me.  I also want to thank everyone who said I couldn't do it because it made me work that much harder."

Steve Woolsey was the big winner on night two in Kansas City.  The Utah bull rider was the only guy to ride both bulls, and he finished with 176 points.  He drew Psycho Todd in the long round where he scored 86.5 points.  He picked Monkey Wrench in the Championship Round and rode him for 89.5 points to pick up the victory.  The win moved Woolsey up to second in the season standings, and that was good for a $40,000 bonus.

Woolsey had this to say about winning the second night of the 2010 Tuff Hedeman CBR Tour Finale.  "It was awesome.  I got on two really good bulls tonight.  The long-round bull had me a little scared, but he gathered me back up.  The ride in the Championship Round made up for it though."

Chandler Bownds bucked off his long-round bull, but he drew back into the Championship Round and made the most of his opportunity.  He picked Little White Out and rode him for 90.5 points to finish second.  Elliot Jacoby finished third with 89.5 points.  Aaron Pass had the lead going into the short-go, but he bucked off his bull and finished fourth.  World Champion Luke Kelley rounded out the top five with 87.5 points.

The second night in Kansas City was also a bull team competition, and Team Neckover finished first and took home the check for $22,500.  The team included Carson's Big Rig, Psycho Todd, and Crazy Train, and all of these bulls are owned by Danny Reagan.

There was a tie for second between Beach City/Kile/Shippy and Wilson/King.  Both teams won $13,500.  The Beach City/Kile/Shippy team included Thunder Down Under, Pray For Mercy, and Like Mike.  The Wilson/King team included Skunk, Hooter Scooter, and Who Dat.  Texas Connection finished fourth, while Hurst Bucking Bulls and Wild Card Rodeo Co. tied for fifth.

Thunder Down Under was the high-marked bull with 92 points.  It was the second consecutive night he won this award.  The bull of the night was Little White Out who combined with Chandler Bownds for 90.5 points in the Championship Round.  The bull of the event was Hell Ya who combined with Jake Littlefield for 91.5 points on night one.  Congratulations are in order for these three bulls and their respective stock contractors.

Speaking of stock contractors, Brad Vogele was named the 2010 CBR Stock Contractor of the Year.  Vogele has a great pen of bulls, and he is very deserving of this accomplishment.  Lastly, the 2010 Waggin' Train Dog Treats Bullfighter of the Year award went to Brandon Loden.  Loden proved he is one of the best in the business this season, and he is also a very deserving recipient of the award.
