2010 CBR Bull of the Year is Dakota Magic's Double Scoop

Fort Worth, TX (October 7, 2010)- The race for 2010 CBR Bull of the Year title was extremely competitive, but Dakota Magic's Double Scoop is the big winner.  This bull is owned by Cooper/Scruggs/All Star, and he has been really good all season.  He trailed Cude Energy by $7 going into last Saturday's event in Lubbock.  He combined with Luke Kelly for 90.5 points to win the Championship Round and event title, and that was enough for him to overtake the lead.

Dakota Magic's Double Scoop has compiled a very impressive set of statistics in 2010.  The bull riders won a total of four events and six rounds on this bull, and he carried an average bull score of almost 45 points throughout the season.  He was ridden six out of seven times for an average ride score over 91 points.  All six times Dakota Magic's Double Scoop was ridden, the guys were over 90 points.  He is very deserving of the 2010 CBR Bull of the Year award.

The race was supposed to be decided in Kansas City this weekend, but Cude Energy was forced out with an injury.  At this point, he was the only bull that could have caught Dakota Magic's Double Scoop for the 2010 CBR Bull of the Year title.  Bryce Cooper of Cooper/Scruggs/All Star had this to say about the injury.  "It's been a great race between Cude Energy and Double Scoop all year, and I hate for it to end this way.  My hat's off to Energy.  He's a great bull, and the riders have won a ton of money on him."

Cude Energy, the five-year-old front-runner for CBR Bull of the Year, caught his hip when the slide gate came open as Craig Jackson was pulling his rope in the Championship Round last Saturday night in Lubbock.  "We knew something was wrong as soon as they opened the chute," stated Benny Cude.

After an exam by Dr. Lisa Willis of Mid-Texas Veterinary Associates, it was discovered that Cude Energy had a severe hip injury and will be out for 30-60 days.  Cude went on to say, "he'll be back, and we will give them a run for their money again in 2011.  I hate this because he is such a special animal to all of us at Cude Bucking Bulls, but it's not worth the risk of hurting him more nor does he deserve to have to perform when he's hurting."

Dakota Magic's Double Scoop, the newly-crowned 2010 CBR Bull of the Year, will still be in Kansas City this weekend for the Tour Finale as part of the Cooper/All Star Bull Team. Keep checking CBRBull.com for full coverage of this year's CBR Tour Finale.
