$10,000 Mahindra Tractors Texas Swing Will be the Focus in Lubbock

Fort Worth, TX (September 27, 2010)- The 2010 CINCH CBR Tour presented by Mahinda Tractors will be in Lubbock, TX, this weekend for the Mahindra Tractors CBR West Texas Showdown presented by West Texas Chevy Dealers.  All eyes will be on this event for two main reasons.  It's the last event before the 2010 CBR Tour Finale, and it's also the last stop in the $10,000 Mahindra Tractors Texas Swing.  17 of the top-20 riders in the season standings are entered, and that's going to make for a very exciting night of bull riding.

The 2010 CBR World Title race has heated up over the past couple months, and Alabama bull rider Luke Kelly currently holds the top spot in the season standings.  He moved to the top with his win in Bossier City in late August, and he has been there ever since.  His lead going into the Lubbock event is $10,000 over number-two Ardie Maier.  Elliot Jacoby is right behind Maier in third, while Friday Wright and Steve Woolsey round out the top five.

With $20,000 added, the winner this weekend will walk away with about $10,000.  If Kelly finds the winner's circle, he could put some space between he and his fellow competitors.  However, it will also provide a great opportunity for someone else currently in the top 10 to make a late run at the top.  For everyone else, a victory will certainly get them within shouting distance heading into the Tour Finale.  There could definitely be some shake-up in the season standings after the dust has settled in Lubbock.

The Mahindra Tractors CBR West Texas Showdown will also mark the last stop in the 2010 $10,000 Mahindra Tractors Texas Swing.  All riders who have entered any/all of the CBR Televised Tour events in Texas this season have been accumulating points based on their ride scores in those particular events.  The events this season are El Paso #1, El Paso #2, Fort Worth, Del Rio, and Lubbock.  The rider with the most points after Lubbock will be awarded the $10,000 bonus!

More importantly, the $10,000 Texas Swing bonus will count towards the season standings.  This will have a huge effect on the 2010 CBR World Title race regardless of who ends up winning the bonus.  Clint Craig, currently seventh in the season standings, leads the Texas Swing with a total of 448 points.  Jake Littlefield has a total of 442.5 points, just 5.5 behind Craig.  The top guy in this year's CBR standings, Luke Kelly, is currently third with 440.5 points.  Cody White sits in fourth with 436 points.

The top-four riders will have an advantage because they have covered two more bulls than everyone else entered.  Riggin Phillips was just one bull behind the leaders, but he isn't entered in Lubbock.  Below is a list of fun facts in regards to the $10,000 Mahindra Tractors Texas Swing.

$10,000 Mahindra Tractors Texas Swing Fun Facts
- The 2010 Mahindra Tractors Texas Swing Bonus is nearly the financial equivalent of winning a CBR CINCH Tour event!
- The top-four riders are separated by less than 12 points.  This means it will all come down to their respective performances in Lubbock.
- It is even mathematically possible that with two great rides in Lubbock, Cooper Kanngiesser (13th place) could earn the Texas Swing Championship.
- Only five of the top-13 riders in the Texas Swing Standings reside in Texas.
- Luke Kelly, currently third in the Texas Swing Standings, is the only rider to have qualified points at EVERY Texas Swing stop.
