Ardie Maier Gets Big Win in Hankinson

Fort Worth, TX (September 5, 2010)- The CBR rocked the house at the 2010 Dakota Magic Tuff Hedeman CBR Challenge, and Ardie Maier was the big winner.  The South Dakota bull rider rode Say I Won't for 89 points in the long round.  That put him in a tie for first heading into the Championship Round.  He picked Double Scoop and rode him for 91 points to secure the victory.  The win will move him up to second in the season standings and make him one of the favorites heading towards the CBR Tour Finale.

Luke Kelly, who came into the event leading the season standings, finished in second with 177 points.  He rode Cude Energy for 91 points in the Championship Round to keep him at the top of the standings.  Elliot Jacoby continued his recent success by finishing third with 176.5 points.  He rode Walk The Line for 90 points in the Championship Round.  The top five was rounded out by Wrangler Dunda with 172.5 points and Cody Schultz with 89 points.  Schultz entered the Championship Round tied for the lead, but he couldn't convert on Crazy Train.

There was also a bull team competition in Hankinson, and Cooper/Scruggs took home the big check.  Their team included Double Scoop, Crush, and Curly Bob.  Denny McCoy's team finished second, and it included Marmit, Electric Slide, and Warrior.  Rounding out the top three was Berger Bucking Bulls, and his team was Yellow Wolf, Rebound, and Clorices' Pet.  The bull of the event was Double Scoop who combined with Ardie Maier on the 91-point winning ride.  The high-marked bull of the event was Marmit who registered a 45.5-point bull score.

The 2010 CINCH CBR Tour presented by Mahindra Tractors will now shift its attention to the Southwest.  The next stop is the Navajo Nation CBR Challenge in Window Rock, Arizona.  It will take place this Thursday night, and it has become a mainstay on the tour each season.  You can keep checking CBRBull.com for all updates, previews, key match-ups, recaps, etc.
