LOGAN KNIBBE - NOVEMBER 2007
(November 1, 2007)
- It's obvious when you get Logan Knibbe's voicemail that this
Stephenville cowboy likes to party and have fun. With a full 30 seconds
of "yee, yee, yee's, and yo, yo, yo's," it's safe to assume he was
having A LOT of fun when he recorded the message.
"I like to have fun. I like to go to the lake, the beach and play golf,
even though I'm no good at it at all," said Knibbe while on his way
home from scoring an 84 point ride in Amarillo.
Originally from Rockdale, Texas, Logan got into rodeo the same way many bull riders do - a family tradition.
"My Dad rodeod and I would watch the Mesquite Rodeo on television. So
I've always been interested in the sport since I was a little kid. I
started by riding calves at youth rodeos and then went on from there,"
Knibbe said.
Knibbe went on to attend Hill College where he twice qualified to the
College National Finals Rodeo. Then he won the Texas Circuit in the
Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in 2003.
Now his goals include the desire to qualify to the National Finals
Rodeo, perform well in the CBR and get his degree from Tarleton State
University in wildlife biology.
"I've been going to Tarleton State University for about 4 years. I've
got one class to go before I graduate and I'm taking that this
semester. I decided to go to Tarleton because they have a good program
for wildlife management. I had a good friend going to the school and I
came to visit him. I really liked the school and the town so I decided
to move here. I enjoy hunting. I wanted a degree that would allow me to
be outdoors and possibly run a game ranch," explained Knibbe.
"Most of all I just want to make money riding bulls and be remembered for it after I quit."
