Since 1897, Cheyenne has celebrated its Old West roots with this eye-popping festival. The centerpiece of this Western celebration is the world’s largest outdoor rodeo, which draws top professionals who compete for more than $1 million in cash and prizes. Complementing the daily rodeo action are behind-the-chutes tours, trick riding and a wild-horse race. A Native American Village, an old frontier town, a saloon, square dancing, a chuck wagon cook-off, pancake breakfasts and an art show carry through the frontier theme. Rounding out the program are a carnival midway, an air show, top-name entertainment, professional bull riding shows and several parades that include antique carriages and automobiles. Ride Right has been a leader in the rodeo industry for over 20 years. Designing and manufacturing premium protective equipment out of its office in Farmersville, TX, the Ride Right team offers the highest degree of product quality and service to customers who demand the best, and nothing less.
Rex Thain founded Ride Right in 1994, when he recognized a need for quality body protection for bull riders. One of his most significant innovations is the Impact Dispersing Shield TM, or IDS Technology TM; a protective shield made with fourth generations ballistic material and ShockTEC Air2GEL, disperses impact energy though out the entire panel of the vest minimizing blunt force trauma. Rex is also the inventor of the Thermo-formed Shock Absorber, created by heating and pressing a solid, protective foam sheet into strategically arranged units, which allows for maximum protection and freedom of movement.
Incorporating the IDS TechnologyTM and Shock Absorber, the Ride Right Bull Rider Protective Vest was a cutting edge innovation when it was first released on the market. Now it is know as the industry standard. Over 80% of the worlds top money winning bull riders wear (or wore before they retired) Ride Right vest.
As Ride Right's brand became synonymous with quality bull riding gear, it began to offer a wider range of products. Today, Rex and his team are proud to offer hand-crafted custom chaps, gear bags and a full line of bull riding gear.
